Once you taste how yummy it is, you won’t believe how easy it is to make. You can cook Chicken Pizza at home to serve a hearty meal to your family during celebrations and weekends!

How to Make Chicken Pizza

In this recipe, you will learn how to cook Chicken Pizza from scratch. It’s a step-by-step guide to show you how you can make pizza with the perfect crust and toppings cooked to perfection.

Is this your first time making pizza? You have nothing to worry about because this is the simplest pizza recipe ever!

Ingredients

Here’s everything you need to make the Chicken Pizza:

Chicken

When it comes to using chicken as pizza toppings, I suggest using chunks of leftover Roasted Chicken. Once roasted, the chicken is already infused with flavor from the seasoning blend.

It is surely going to give the dish a savory and smoky taste that pairs well with veggies. The chicken will also have a juicy and tender texture that melts in your mouth with the cheese.

You can even cook Crispy Chicken Wings, Spaghetti in Chicken Breast Sauce, and Chicken Pie to go with the pizza!

Plain flour

Since you are making pizza from scratch, you will need plain flour to form the base. It absorbs the ingredients to give the pizza the right flavor and texture from the inside out.

Bob’s Red Mill suggests using all-purpose flour, pastry flour, or gluten-free flour for the dough. I always have flour at home because I also use it to make Banana Bread, Coconut Egg Rolls, and Almond Chocolate Chip Cupcakes!

Dry yeast mixture

Get the crispy and crunchy crust of the pizza with the help of a dry yeast mixture. You just need to mix water, dry yeast, and sugar to allow the dough to rise and expand.

As the pizza cooks, the dry yeast mixture will give the pizza the perfect crust. I also use yeast for recipes that need a light and airy quality, such as Puff Puff, No-Oven Bread, and Donuts!

Mozzarella cheese

Of course, you can never forget the classic pizza topping, mozzarella cheese. It has a beautiful melting effect that will make the pizza more appetizing.

The mozzarella cheese has a milky and tangy flavor that blends well with the toppings. It’s my go-to cheese for other pizza recipes like Pizza Margherita and Bread Pizza!

pizza sauce recipe
Pizza sauce

There are many pizza sauces you can use, but nothing beats the goodness of homemade pizza sauce. When you make it at home, you can season it however you like.

The pizza sauce will serve as a barrier between the dough and the toppings. It provides sweetness and acidity for a more balanced flavor.

You can prepare a No-Cook Pizza Sauce or a Quick Pizza Sauce recipe for a more natural flavor!

Garlic-infused oil

Instantly upgrade your pizza recipes with garlic-infused oil. By brushing your dough with this oil, you can infuse it with a pungent flavor and aromatic quality.

According to Pizza Bien, the oil also allows the dough to absorb moisture for a crisp crust. You can also use other kinds of oil available to you.

Red onion

One of my favorite toppings for Chicken Pizza is the red onion. It has a mild flavor, but it has an excellent aroma that truly brings the pizza together.

While the red onion is usually raw in salads or sandwiches, it will add a crunchy texture to the pizza too. In fact, it is one of the most common pizza toppings ever.

Jalapeño peppers

Don’t be afraid of using jalapeño peppers for the pizza. I suggest using green and red jalapeños for a diverse flavor.

The green ones have a fresh and tangy taste, while the red ones have a spicy and sweet taste. These peppers will surely give the dish more crunch!

I can’t wait for you to try the Chicken Pizza. It is an easy recipe that you can cook in less than an hour – perfect for bonding with your loves ones over good food!

Tips

Pizza Dough

Making pizza dough

While there is store-bought pizza dough in groceries, I always prefer making it at home.

  1. Mix water, dry yeast, and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Set this aside to bloom.
  3. Mix plain or all-purpose flour with olive oil and salt.
  4. Stir in the yeast mixture.
  5. Knead the dough with a mixer or by hand.
  6. Let the dough rest in a lightly greased bowl.
  7. Cover it with cling film or aluminum foil.
  8. Allow it to double in size within an hour and a half.

Pro Tip!

Knead the dough by hand by continuously folding the dough inward. To check if the dough has been sufficiently kneaded, poke it with your finger. If it bounces back immediately, it is ready.

Storing pizza dough
  • Coat the pizza dough with oil before storing it in a plastic bag or container.
  • Freeze it for up to three months, and once ready to use, let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
  • Allow the dough to rest at room temperature before molding.

Pizza Sauce

To make your Pizza Sauce, you will need tomatoes, red onions, olive oil, sea salt, smoked paprika, oregano, fresh basil, pepper, and sugar.

  1. Blend the tomatoes and red onion in a blender
  2. Preheat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Saute the remaining red onion.
  4. Season it with herbs and spices for a minute.
  5. Then, pour the blended tomatoes and red onion.
  6. Cook the sauce for five minutes.
  7. Garnish it with basil if preferred.

To store, put the pizza sauce in a container and refrigerate it to last up to a week or in freezer bags.

There’s even a No-Cook Pizza Sauce that you can try out! Whichever you choose will result in a delicious dish.

Garlic-Infused Olive Oil

  • According to For The Love of Cooking, you can make garlic-infused oil by sauteeing about four cloves of garlic in ¾ cup of olive oil for about 30 minutes.
  • Filter the combination or mince the garlic for a stronger flavor and improved texture.
  • Store it by pouring it into a container and refrigerating or freezing it. This can last at least one month.

Chicken Pizza Variations

Pizza recipes are highly customizable. Hence, you can substitute ingredients in this recipe for other foods of your choice!

For instance, mozzarella cheese can be replaced with cheddar, parmesan, gouda, ricotta, or provolone cheese. If you don’t want to add cheese, then you can use pesto sauce, spinach, mushrooms, or even tofu.

Meanwhile, chicken pizza toppings can include pepperoni, bacon, olives, beef, ham, pork, pineapple, and other ingredients. However, remember not to include too many moist or watery ingredients to prevent it from becoming soggy.

On the other hand, chicken pizza sauce can be substituted with Spaghetti Sauce, barbecue sauce, pesto, garlic-infused oil, marinara, and other condiments.

I suggest a Pizza Bread recipe if you don’t have pizza dough. I highly suggest recreating my Pizza Margherita recipe using simpler ingredients for other pizza flavors.
