Ingredients

Chicken breast

Chicken breast is easy to season and cooking, making it suitable for pasta recipes. It’s juicy and tender to make the dish enjoyable and appetizing.

Here’s why you should consider adding chicken breast to your spaghetti: it’s a rich source of lean protein, vitamins, minerals, and essential nutrients.

Use leftover chicken for side dishes such as Crispy Chicken Wings, Chicken Pizza, and Roast Chicken!

Pasta

Contrary to many misconceptions about pasta, it’s a nutritious and affordable ingredient that can satisfy your cravings and nourish your body.

Onions

Meanwhile, red onions provide a subtle sweetness and a fragrant aroma to the spaghetti. Onions are loaded with vitamins and antioxidants that can help with bone density and digestion.

Bell peppers

On the other hand, mixed bell peppers add to the spaghetti sauce’s color, flavor, and texture. Using different kinds of bell peppers enriches the flavors of the sauce.

Seasoning

For the seasoning, I recommended mixed herbs, curry powder, turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, ginger powder, and sea salt for bold flavors to be infused in the pasta sauce. These spices can complement the natural flavor of the chicken too.

Scotch bonnet

An optional ingredient is the scotch bonnet which should only be used if you prefer to eat spaghetti with a bit of spice. Use coconut oil to sautee and cook the dish.

These ingredients are truly out-of-the-box ingredients when it comes to the usual spaghetti recipes but I can assure you that the final dish will be healthy, flavorful, and enjoyable!

Directions

  1. Sautee the onions with coconut oil in a frying pan over medium fire for 2 minutes.
  2. Add the diced chicken breast, sea salt, curry powder, mixed herbs, knorr cubes, chives, turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, ginger powder, and scotch bonnet.
  3. Fry for 5 minutes with occasional stirring using a spatula.
  4. Incorporate the chopped tomatoes and let this cook for 5 minutes until the tomatoes become soft.
  5. Toss in the chopped mixed bell peppers and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
  6. Then, put the spaghetti in the pan and mix it with the sauce.

Bell peppers

  • Meanwhile, for the mixed bell peppers, choose ones that are quite heavy for their size.
  • The colors should be vibrant, and the skin must be shiny and smooth.
  • Avoid bell peppers that look shriveled.
  • Bell peppers can be stored in a resealable bag in the fridge for up to a week.
