How to Make One-Pot Spaghetti
Are you looking for the simplest way to cook Spaghetti? I’ll show you how to cook everything in just one pot. You’ll get sweet sauce, tender and juicy chicken, al dente pasta, and all the veggies you need in pasta.
Let’s cook it together and experience how satisfying the One-Pot Spaghetti can be!
Ingredients
Whenever I make One-Pot Spaghetti, these are my go-to ingredients:
Spaghetti
There is no doubt that spaghetti is one of the most popular pasta options.
The word “spaghetti” came from the Italian word “spaghetto” which means cord or string. It is fitting for its name because spaghetti is a long and thin pasta. Spaghetti is a staple food in Italy and now, it has become popular all over the world.
Spaghetti also goes with many sauces, veggies, fruits, and meats to make new recipes. Every time you cook it can be a different delicacy to taste and experience. What’s your favorite spaghetti recipe?

Chicken breast
Spaghetti always tastes better with meat, especially chicken breast.
Whenever I cook spaghetti, chicken is one of my favorite meat options. It has a juicy, tender, and soft quality that feels amazing with the pasta. Chicken is also just as easy to cook as the spaghetti.
Once you season the chicken, it will have a savory and smoky taste that balances the sweet flavor of the sauce. Cook your chicken into side dishes such as Roast Chicken, Crispy Chicken Wings, and Chicken Pizza!
Tomatoes
It won’t be spaghetti sauce without fresh tomatoes.
Tomatoes have a sweet, tangy, and sour flavor that’s a signature quality in the sauce. The rich and vibrant color of the tomatoes also makes the sauce an authentic spaghetti recipe.
Since tomatoes are easy to blend, they will have a smooth and thick texture, too. These will also taste well with herbs and spices that you want to use for your spaghetti.
Bell pepper and sweet pepper
Give the sauce an even better flavor with sweet pepper and bell pepper.
Peppers have a sweet, fruity, and mild taste that takes the dish to a whole new level. Whenever I make pepper sauce, I always add sweet pepper and bell pepper for an extra kick of flavor.
Once you cook the sauce, you’ll experience just how aromatic the sweet pepper and bell pepper can be, too. The good thing about these peppers is that even if you blend them, they still maintain a crisp and crunchy texture.
Scotch bonnet
Do you feel like there’s something missing? Maybe the sauce needs a scotch bonnet!
A little bit of spice won’t hurt the sauce. In fact, it’s going to make it so much better. The scotch bonnet does a fantastic job of balancing out the sweet and tangy flavors of tomatoes and peppers.
Aside from the hot and spicy taste of scotch bonnet, it also has a touch of fruity and sweet flavors. Instead of fresh scotch bonnet, chili flakes are also good options to season your sauce with.
Seasoning
Don’t forget to add the best herbs and spices to season the dish. I suggest using red onion, mixed herbs, curry powder, basil, parsley, garlic powder, ginger powder, chicken stock cubes, and sea salt.

Once you have these ready, the One-Pot Spaghetti will be easy to cook from there. Believe me; nothing beats the tasty goodness of homemade spaghetti!

- Go for chicken that feels cold.
- The chicken should also have a neutral odor.
Storing chicken
- Keep the chicken in the fridge for two days only.
- Freeze the chicken to last up to several weeks or months.
- You can store cooked chicken in the fridge for three days.
Sauce Ingredients
Buying sauce ingredients
- Tomatoes, peppers, and scotch bonnet should feel heavy for their size.
- They should be without cuts, bruises, or soft spots.
- Check if the peel is shiny and brightly colored.

No-Blender Spaghetti Sauce
Aside from using a blender, you can also make the sauce using a food processor, a mortar and pestle, a food mill, a grater, and other similar kitchen tools.
As a last resort, finely chop the ingredients using a knife until you achieve the right texture. For a finer texture, filter the sauce using a sieve.

One-Pot Spaghetti Variations
You can always make a One-Pot Spaghetti recipe of your own!
In what ways can you customize the pasta recipe? For the pasta, you can try angel hair, bucatini, fettuccine, linguine, or penne. It won’t spaghetti anymore but you can still use the chicken and sauce recipe.
You can also use store-bought sauce or other sauces you prefer. In terms of additional ingredients, I suggest adding cheese, cooked bacon, spinach, meatballs, red pepper flakes, etc.
If you don’t want to use chicken, then make it vegetarian by adding squash, corn, spinach, zucchini, tomatoes, celery, and more. Moreover, you can also cook the dish in the oven or an instant pot!
