How to Make Avocado Egg Breakfast Sandwich

Take a break from classic sandwich recipes. Make this Avocado Egg Breakfast Sandwich for a change!

Ingredients

Wholemeal bread

Wholemeal bread is light, tender, and healthy. You can buy it at the grocery or make your own at home. It also contains fiber for weight loss and energy.

I also suggest using Oven-Baked Bread or No-Bake Bread!

Avocado

Avocados have mildly sweet, nutty, and earthy flavors. They also have a creamy texture that melts in your mouth. These are popular breakfast sandwich fillings because of their health benefits too.

Why not make Avocado Banana Milkshake and pair it with this sandwich?

Egg

Eggs go well with the avocado’s texture. Both are smooth and soft, yet not too mushy. These certainly add a rich and savory taste to the sandwich.

If you love eggs and bread, I suggest making Egg and Cheese Sandwich, Egg Omelet Toast, and Egg Mayo Sandwich!

Spinach

Spinach adds a fresh, sweet, leafy taste and a healthy green color. Indeed, it makes the breakfast sandwich more appetizing! It’s also low in calories, yet it offers many health benefits.

I have a spinach storage hack to retain freshness. Occasionally, I add spinach to Spaghetti Bolognese, Egusi Soup, and Couscous!

Mayonnaise

Mayonnaise contributes a mildly sour taste and creamy texture. It also adds moisture to the other ingredients!

Doesn’t it sound like a delicious Avocado Egg Breakfast Sandwich already? Without a doubt, it’s a fresh, healthy, and new way of eating breakfast. Keep yourself full and your body nourished with this recipe!

Tips for Making Breakfast Sandwich

How to Buy and Store Avocados and Spinach

Avocado

Selection. According to The Spruce Eats, always select avocados with a smooth texture and heavy weight. Moreover, discard avocados with loose pits. The fruit should yield to slight pressure.

Storage. Unripe avocados can be left at room temperature until they ripen. Once ripe, transfer them into the fridge.

Use them within a few days or as soon as possible. Sliced avocados can also be frozen in freezer bags for a longer shelf life.

Spinach

Selection. My Food and Family recommend purchasing spinach with a deep green color and fresh odor. They should not have wilted leaves or foul odor. The leaves should also feel crisp.

Storage. Store unwashed spinach in resealable bags and refrigerate for up to 4 days.

Instead of mayonnaise, you may opt for guacamole, pesto sauce, cream cheese, jam, or any other dip you choose. The avocados can also be seasoned with lemon juice, salt, pepper, chili flakes, or cayenne.
