Vanilla Ice Cream is classic yet timeless comfort food everyone enjoys eating daily. Let’s make it together!
How to Make Vanilla Ice Cream
This easy-to-make classic frozen dessert is so creamy, yet you can simply make this ice cream recipe 100% dairy-free, making it vegan-friendly.
Ingredients
Elmlea Double
Elmlea is a brand that offers products that will allow dishes to stay fresh for an extended period. It’s a multipurpose cream alternative that’s perfect for pudding and pasta.
Note that in storing Elmlea Double, you can keep it in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, which is not freezer friendly.
Condensed milk
To give the dessert its sweetness, the recipe uses condensed milk. The consistency of the condensed milk can also add to the richness of the texture of the cream.
I recommend Carnation Condensed Milk because it has the perfect amount of sweetness and is gluten-free!
Vanilla extract
The recipe also uses vanilla extract because it is an addictive flavor in any dish. Vanilla extract can bring out the original flavor of the frozen treat without discoloring the cream, maintaining its white and smooth appearance.

Making ice cream is fun; you can make it with your kids or younger siblings. Let’s begin!
Directions
- Use a mixer to whip the Elmlea Double until it doubles in volume.
- Add the condensed milk and vanilla extract until the Elmlea becomes creamy.
- Fold the mixture to incorporate the condensed milk and vanilla extract using a spatula.
- Transfer contents into a freezable container and put them in the freezer.
- After all the mixing, it’s time to let it freeze for a few hours or overnight!
Whenever you’re craving something sweet, comforting, and creamy, you easily make or prepare your 3-Ingredient Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream!
Tips
- One of the ways to improve this recipe is to chill the bowl and the container before using it. Freeze it overnight.
- Along with the mixing bowl, chill the Elmlea Double as well because this will make a richer and creamier base. Chilled cream is also easier to whip.
- Moreover, don’t fill the container to the brim. Leave some space for the mixture to expand. Overfilling the container will slow down the freezing.

Variations
If you want to add some flavor and texture to your Vanilla Ice Cream, you can incorporate cookies to transform them into a new flavor.
To make it healthier, creamier, and more tasteful, you can use coconut milk, peanut butter, almonds, bananas, chocolate chips, or even coffee!
However, note that adding fruits to the dessert can also affect its shelf-life.
How to Serve Vanilla Ice Cream
Before serving, leave it at room temperature for 10 to 15 minutes so it is easy to scoop. Use an ice cream scooper to measure an adequate amount of ice cream.
If you want to make Vanilla Ice Cream the main event, you can top it off with chocolate chips, fresh fruits, candies, nuts, sprinkles, sauces, or even cereal!
Use it for ice cream sandwiches, floats, sundaes, cakes, parfaits, pies, frozen bars, and milkshakes!

Yes! In the absence of a mixer, you can manually whisk the ingredients together. However, this usually takes a long time and more effort.
Are there differences between ice cream, sorbet, and gelato?
Of course. While they all look and seem the same, there are evident distinctions among them. For instance, gelato is denser compared to ice cream and sorbet.
It is also lower in fat, and its primary ingredient is milk. It is commonly served in areas with warm temperatures.
On the other hand, sorbet is a dairy product that contains the lowest fat content of the three. Sorbets have sugars and other flavorings as sweeteners.
Whereas ice cream is high in fat content because of the doubling in volume during the whipping process. Its main ingredient is the cream itself.
