  • Mix the plain flour, sea salt, nutmeg, and sugar in a bowl.
  • Make a well at the center of the mixture.
  • Add the butter in the middle.
  • Then, massage everything together using clean hands. 
  • Mix in the eggs and evaporated milk until you form a pastry.
  • Place the pastry in a bowl and cover it with cling film.
  • Put the pastry in the fridge to proof for 30 minutes.
  • Use a rolling pin to flatten out the dough on a lightly floured or greased surface.
  • Place the hotdog on one end of the pastry and trim the excess pastry with a dough scraper. 
  • Roll a single layer of dough around the hot dog.
  • Arrange the sausage rolls on a lined baking tray.
  • Apply egg wash to the egg rolls.
  • Preheat the oven to 170° C.
  • Bake sausage rolls for 25 minutes to 30 minutes or until done.
  • Let them cool and serve!

Notes

  1. Remember to store the Frankfurters properly, especially when the packaging has been opened.
  2. Store it in the fridge or freezer for later use of the pastry.
  3. You can cook them in the air fryer for up to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Don’t crowd the rolls in the air fryer; cook them in batches to cook through. Allow enough room for the pastry to expand.
