Ingredients

  • 1 plantain (ripe) the riper, the sweeter
  • 1 cup water (for steaming)

Instructions

  • Heat water in a pot.
  • Peel and slice the plantain with a knife.
  • Put the steaming basket in the pot.
  • Then, steam the plantains over low heat for about seven minutes.
  • Once cooked, set it aside and allow it to cool. 
  • Put the plantains in a blender.
  • Add water or breast milk if preferred.
  • Blend the contents until smooth and runny.
  • Transfer the contents into a baby bowl to serve!

Notes

  • Always remember not to leave baby food at room temperature for 2 hours.
  • While slicing the plantain, you can remove the seeds for safer consumption.
  • The smaller the slices are, the faster they will cook.
