Ingredients

  • 1 cup cranberry (fresh or frozen cranberry or juice)
  • ½ cup honey (maple syrup or sugar)
  • cup filtred water

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine cranberries, water, and sweetener (sugar, honey or maple syrup)
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes until cranberries burst.
  • Mash slightly and strain through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth.
  • Stir in lemon juice (optional, for extra brightness).
  • Then, set aside to cool.
  • Store in a glass jar or bottle. Keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Filter the syrup if desired for a smoother consistency. 
  • You can use a handheld blender to give the syrup a smooth texture.
  • Don’t store it at room temperature.
