How to Peel Beans (+VIDEO)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups beans

Instructions

Soak the beans.

  • Combine the beans and lukewarm water in a bowl.
  • Let it soak for 30 minutes to 1 hour (or overnight).
  • Then, rub the beans in between your palms to peel off the skin.

Peel the skin.

  • Add more water to let the skin float and collect the peeled skin.
  • Pour out the water using a sieve to segregate the floating skin.
  • Do this several times until you get all of the skin out.
  • The peeled beans can be used in making:

  • Always pre-soak the beans to loosen up the skin.
  • Use a fine-mesh sieve to filter the contents.
  • Peeled beans are best stored in the freezer for up to several months.
