Ingredients

  • 1 apple (rinsed, cored, peeled, and sliced)
  • 1 pear (rinsed, cored, peeled, and sliced)
  • ½ cup water (for steaming the fruits)

Instructions

  • Boil water in a pot.
  • Peel the apple and pear with a knife or peeler.
  • Chop and core the apple using an apple corer and slicer.
  • Slice the pear with a knife.
  • Then, cut the fruits into thin slices.
  • Place the steaming basket in the pot.
  • Cook the pear and apple for ten minutes or until soft and tender.
  • Allow the steamed fruits to cool.
  • Put the fruit slices in a blender.
  • Pour some water or milk.
  • Blend the contents until smooth.
  • Pour the puree into a baby bowl to feed the baby.

Notes

  • I suggest steaming the fruits to soften them while retaining most of their nutrients. 
  • Use a blender, food processor, or masher to puree the steamed fruits. 
  • Feed the Apple Pear Baby Food to babies aged six to nine months.
