For boiled shin of beef
- 500 g beef (shine or brisket)
- 1 onion (small-sized)
- 1 pinch mixed herbs
- 1 pinch curry powder
- 1 pinch garlic powder
- 1 pinch turmeric
- 1 pinch ginger powder
- 1 pinch all-purpose seasoning
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1 cube knorr chicken
For the pepper sauce
- 3 tbsp sunflower oil (flavored with the fried meat)
- ½ sweet pepper (finely chopped)
- 1 scotch bonnet
- 1 tbsp meat liquid stock
- 1 pinch curry powder
- 1 pinch mixed herbs
- 1 pinch all-purpose seasoning
- 1 tbsp onion (from the boiled shin/brisket)
For garnish
- ½ red bell peppers (equally diced)
- ½ green bell peppers (equally diced)
- ½ yellow bell peppers (equally diced)
Prepare the beef.
Slice the beef into small chunks, rinse, and place them in a pot. Without turning on the heat, add the onions and seasonings. There is no need to add water, so proceed to cook the beef over medium heat until tender.
After 20 to 25 minutes, check the meat by piercing it with a fork. Set the onions and beef stock aside. For the beef, you can either grill or fry it.
For grilling, arrange the chunks on a baking tray and cook them in the oven at 200°C for up to 20 minutes. On the other hand, fry the beef in a pot with hot oil and once cooked, transfer the chunks into a lined plate to drain the oil.
Cook the sauce.
Heat cooking oil or the oil from the fried beef in a pot. Then, sautee the sweet pepper and scotch bonnet. Pour in the beef stock and season with curry powder, mixed herbs, and all-purpose seasoning.
Next, incorporate the onions from the beef stock. Toss in the grilled or fried beef and mix it into the sauce until fully coated. Let it simmer for 2 minutes and set it aside.
Prepare the bell peppers.
Rinse, de-stalk, and deseed the bell peppers.
Dice the mixed bell peppers.
- If you don’t have skewers or toothpicks, serve it on a plate with sauteed bell peppers and drizzled sauce.
- Consume up to 4 ounces of meat on a daily basis.
