For the marinade

  • soft chicken
  • 1 onion (small-sized)
  • 1 garlic clove (minced)
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • A pinch oregano
  • ½ tsp curry powder
  • A pinch paprika
  • A pinch turmeric
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp all-purpose seasoning (1 chicken knorr cube)

For the dredge

  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup plain flour
  • A pinch garlic powder
  • ½ tsp curry powder
  • A pinch oregano
  • A pinch turmeric
  • A pinch paprika
  • A pinch white pepper
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • A pinch mixed herbs
  • A pinch sea salt

For deep frying

  • vegetable oil (enough to deep-fry)


Marinate the chicken

  • In a bowl, combine the chicken with chopped onion, chopped garlic, mixed herbs, oregano, curry powder, paprika, turmeric, sea salt, and knorr cube.
  • Cover it with cling film and marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Dredge the chicken

  • Whisk an egg in a bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, season the plain flour with garlic powder, curry powder, oregano, turmeric, paprika, white pepper, cayenne pepper, mixer herbs, and sea salt.
  • Use tongs to coat the chicken in the egg and flour mixture.

Deep fry the chicken

  • Turn the chicken at regular intervals. Leave to fry for at least 10 minutes to cook.
  • Remove the chicken from the heat with a skimmer spoon. Let it cool on a lined plate, and enjoy!



  • The longer you marinate, the tastier it will be. 
  • Add cornstarch to the plain flour to make the chicken crispier.
  • Aside from deep frying, you can also bake or air fry it.
